The Time Has Come

Have you ever packed up your entire life into a box? That’s what I spent my entire day yesterday doing. After packing my kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and living room up into separate boxes it finally hit me that this is it. The time has finally come to move on with my life. I have been living the past week at my parent’s house and I must say, being at home isn’t all that bad. See, my parents are very strict; the summer after my freshman year of college living with them got so bad, I actually moved out and stayed with my grandmother for the summer. Normally when I come home, I stay for a max of 2 days and then I’m running out of there; not this time though.

During this past week I took a trip up to DC to sign my lease and visit my apartment. I’m going to be staying in SW, which is the southwestern quadrant of Washington, DC. Not exactly the heart of downtown, but it’s very close to work which I think is really what’s more important. While I was there I was able to take a couple of photos before the battery on my camera went out.

Now I’m back in Raleigh visiting and man it feels weird to say that. Being a “North Carolinian” for so long it’s hard now to come here and not have my own bed to sleep in. But I am happy to see my friends one last time here before I make the big move.

Welcome To My BLOG

College is one of those times in your life where it goes by so fast; you work so hard to get out and the moment it’s over you wish you could go back. That’s where I am now; having now completed undergrad, I find myself thrown into what most refer to as the Real World. What’s even harder for me is I have been relocated from the small town feel of Raleigh, NC, to the U.S. capital of Washington, DC. I am engulfed in nervousness and excitement; nervous to be in a new city and excited to be in a new city, just all around filled with different and conflicting emotions. This blog is intended to document my adventures as a new resident of the capital, from the people I meet, to the neighborhood I live in, the nightlife etc. So follow me and see what this next year has in store.

D's Quote of the Day: “Shut up” was probably the best advice I’ve ever received from anyone
